Resistance forces

Resistance forces are calculated for hull, keel and rudder. Required hull data are already available. Keel and rudder specifications will be entered through Invite. Detailled design of these are not required at this stage.

This selection make the resistance forces calculation for a specific case (velocity and heel angle).





The selection >> Resistance >>Resistance Hull Graph gave the resistance forces for varing boat velocity.






































>>Resistance>>Keel Lift/Drag

The  selection gave the keel drag and lift
for a specific velocity and varing leeway angle. The lift is the lateral force fighting  the side force developped by the sail plan. The lift increases with leeway angle until both forces are equal. The leeway angle is the number near the dot on the graph.
